Our lives are greatly enriched by our strengthening our will power and eliminating our “won’t power” as much as is humanly possible.
It takes will power for anything you do, no matter whether it be positive or negative. The will is in operation at all times, so it is up to us whether or not it is correctly utilized.
If we stubbornly refuse to do or to say something, it is an effort of the will which is asserted and therefore is positively negative under these conditions.
When we strongly and firmly push ourselves into a job to be done or make a strong effort to persuade someone to do [the right] something, this is using the will positively, and in whatever measure we use our will power so are the results. At least we try and in trying we cannot fail. We may not achieve all at once exactly what our minds picture for us, but eventually we must hit somewhere near the mark if we patiently keep at it and are not quitters.
You know that little drops of water wear away the hardest rock. It is also true in life. The rules are the same -- repetition, perseverance, patience, practice -- it all adds up to success in whatever field of endeavor we are trying to gain. Rome was never built in a day and success is never achieved overnight, but when it does come, we know without any doubts that it is through our own efforts, our own attitudes that this feat is accomplished.
Our lives are greatly enriched by our strengthening our will power and eliminating our “won’t power” as much as is humanly possible.
Yes, if you believe it, it is so. You can, if you will.
