We are all at different stages of maturity in this mental world of ours.
When one reaches maturity, it does not mean that one is mentally mature. It only pertains to the physical, therefore it is truly a misnomer.
We are all at different stages of maturity in this mental world of ours. We often cling to the old childish ways of behavior not realizing that we should have long since outgrown this stage and gone on to a larger concept of life.
It is all a matter of mental gymnastics, so to speak -- that which we dwell on constantly finds expression in our lives in some form. That [lack of maturity] accounts for so many illnesses for those people have held resentment, envy, jealousy, hatred, selfishness, greed and other equally unlovely thoughts when they could, by a little effort and knowledge on their part, have shaken off these inner feelings and not allowed them development and later expression, which is bound to come.
Instead, try to keep the joyous, the happy, the peaceful, thankful heart that expresses love so eloquently and brings all manner of good things into our lives. We all need to heed this lesson for seldom do we find a person who is truly mature in both mind and body. There are times when we come across a child who has more maturity of thought than many an adult and who could teach us all lessons of love and patience.
It is all in thought and the thought patterns we allow to stay with us, so it behooves [each one of us] to eliminate all the undesirable traits that we possibly can. In other words, weed the garden that the weeds may not choke off the growth of the flowers and prevent the blossoming of the plants of love and kindness in the life.
