There is no substance of Nature that should in any way cause distress ...
All afflictions of the body stem from the mind; in some way the power of the mind has become bottled up, stifled as it were, and we sometimes need outside help to overcome these adverse conditions.
There is no substance of Nature that should in any way cause distress, with the exception of the known poisons, such as the common ivys and sumac and such. Many times we even come in contact with these substances and are not afflicted due to our health condition at the time of contact.
Truly, if we are full of health and peace of mind with all functions of our bodies responding to our mental suggestion, then we are free from all the effects upon our material bodies of elements that, at other times and under other conditions, have the power to afflict us with their poison and cause suffering in some form.
How do we go about building up this very desirable condition that overcomes all these things? First, we hold the thought that all is good, that all is of God and all in its place has a reason to exist; that we can and shall live in harmony with all conditions.
Second, we accept the fact that all is in the process of change and that vibrations of love and peace are always here in God’s world, so that if we attune ourselves to them they can reach us and help us in overcoming anything that temporarily causes distress. Call upon these forces, they are there for us to help us.
Third, we must recognize the Kingdom of God within us, not without, not dependent on others, not dependent on circumstances, not dependent on things, but entirely within and caused by our thought life and the laws of cause and effect, of attraction and repulsion, of polarity, and of love. The strongest link in the chain of life -- Love.
