We need change, we need relaxation --we all need vacations.
Everyone needs a vacation, a period set apart from the daily routine of life and a change of pace whereby he can let down all tension and become relaxed, letting go the old and taking on the new.
It is not always necessary to have a change of scene on vacations, but it is desirable for with a change of scene the old thoughts are thrown aside and are more easily replaced with different ones. Everyone needs this change of thought that gives us a true vacation, another term for change.
A continuous plodding on in a rut of sameness creates dullness of mind, and we need a stimulus to bring us back in time again with the harmonious life. When all is in harmony, of course, no vacation is necessary or in any way needed, but few indeed have this true of their lives.
All work and no play is not a good thing and, conversely, neither is all play. We must create a balance and, by this change of pace, create new and more varied conditions that tend to relax the mind and, in turn, the body.
Those who, through their own shortsightedness for whatever reason, do not allow themselves a vacation period are like machines that are finally pushed beyond endurance and so give out. I do not say this always happens, but the tendency is there.
We need change, we need relaxation -- we all need vacations.
