Spirit reigns and patience is its handmaiden.
Patience is indeed a virtue and to those who have acquired it, half the battle is won. To lack this attribute is to be in a condition of poverty in spirit for it is a necessary quality to have for the development of the human into a spiritual being.
When we give way to outbursts of temper or to unreasoning jealousy or envy, we pave the way for all negative conditions of body and mind and remain undeveloped in our more spiritual capabilities.
This quality [of patience] takes time to acquire and also many painful experiences if we lack this very excellent virtue. It is the basis of all other qualities and so most necessary to have.
Why do some have it while some do not? Well, all have some measure of this, but most of us need to develop more. All those who have it are sure of themselves, confident, secure and realize in themselves that all is and ever shall be and in that is their strength. With this then they go forth and gain all else needed to round out their character for they have the basic quality and all else will be gradually added to them.
Whatever such spirits seek with patience as their basic attribute they will indeed acquire and go forth free without any negative holds on their minds. Thus the Kingdom of God that is within them opens up and all becomes clear to them.
Spirit reigns and patience is its handmaiden.
