Compensation is a law. We sow and we reap -- cause and effect -- a great law of life and a just one.
Whatever we may have or whatever we may lack in life has its compensations. If we have love we lack nothing, no matter how we look at it, for love is the vital life of our life, our reason to be. Without it we are starved, always hungry -- seeking, seeking after it. We may have great riches, be successful in the eyes of the world, but if we lack love we are indeed poor.
But as I say, everything has its compensation. Suppose, for instance, you have brought up a family and they have left home, married and have families of their own. This loss of family has compensations because you are no longer obligated to feed and clothe them and they, in turn, must look after their children.
Then too there are the new additions to the family life that add interest to our own life. We can be on the sidelines, giving advice if asked for, help if needed and love at all times. Is this not compensation for the mere loss of their being always in your presence? Then too there is the added freedom of time that is gained to do with what you will. There is still plenty to do, always there will be work and perhaps too we should play a little and gather strength for our later years.
Compensation is a law. We sow and we reap -- cause and effect -- a great law of life and a just one. Give and it will be given to you. Compensation.
