Dave Bias, spring, 2009
I can't resist using this wonderful photo of Dave's, taken with an SX-70 Alpha 1 Land Camera and 600 film in Gramercy, NY, in April of 2009. I know, I know, it's entitled spring, but here it is because I like it and hope to inspire you to take photos of flowering shrubs whenever they bring you great joy.
(I'm sure that many of you know Dave in his role as vice-president of Impossible USA.)

There exists in the portfolio of this outstanding photographer, hundreds of photos of beautiful young women, one of which turned out to be a Polaroid that I found among his uploads to Flickr. Since no specific instant camera was listed, I'll guess that it was an SX-70.
A great shot and what used to be called a come-hither look, directed at the camera and fortunate viewer.

Flickr, where I found this wonderful photo, won't identify the photographer so all I can add is this talented soul is known only at this point to be pxl77. I hope some day to know, whereupon I will update this page.
I can tell you, however, that the photo was taken on the island of Ibiza, in the Spanish Balearic Islands, and what appeals to me is the inviting image of the subject: pleasant but still a bit cautious about where this encounter might lead.
Perhaps you'll be as intrigued as I. There has to be a story here.

This photo grabbed me for its design, with the stark lines and old brick masonry of its architecture, as well as the pose that suggests the top half of a Polaroid photo perhaps parodying the painting American Gothic by the famous painter Grant Wood (1891-1942) from the adjoining state of Iowa.

She had that to say of the design of this remarkably restrained photograph which appealed to me so much when I first saw it and thought, what a great eye for composition!

Jackson Casagrande is a photographer from Melbourne, Australia. I found his work on flickr and here:
"This year I have had had the privilege of meeting some wonderful people that have inspired me with there personalities creativity dreams and ambition.
For the first time in my life i can say i have friends that i can relate to that share the same passions as myself and more importantly inspire me and understand me.
One of those people is a young man that goes by the name of Jackson Casagrande.
You will usually find this old soul spending his days glueing tables and chairs to the ceiling of his bedroom roof hanging light bulbs from threads and grown various plants out of them
and listening to tasteful music whilst smoking his pipe
He is very unique indeed, a diamond in the rough and his talents are going to blow this world away.
These are just some pictures he took of myself and my boyfriend Benito the other week whilst staying with us.
We didn't spend any money and these were all of our own clothes in fact the only money spent was on a packed picnic lunch petrol and film.
We all agree that Jackson's work captures a era that cant be captured by most.
