Whatever way we help others along life’s road we help ourselves for it is a law.
Each one unfolds his possibilities in life as he aspires and, in turn, is inspired by the good thoughts and efforts towards benefits for others as well as for himself. One, you see, is not possible without the other for if you seek to help those around and about you who are in need, you help yourself.
The need may not be in a material way, it may be entirely physical or spiritual -- maybe only a smile or a kind word. Whatever way we help others along life’s road we help ourselves for it is a law. God’s laws are not mocked. They are continually in operation, and justice is always being meted out in some form or another.
We are often given trials in order that we may unfold more. There is always purpose behind all that happens to us.
Life is not a hit-or-miss proposition; it is never a matter of sheer luck or good fortune that one prospers over another. No, it is whatever is needed for the individual in order that he may unfold spiritually to a greater degree and be a step higher on the spiritual ladder of life. This cannot be unless we desire it. To desire this means greater growth and ways will open whereby we can receive to a greater degree that which we need for unfoldment.
