People do not ... grasp the fact that they alone are responsible for their fate, that they are the only ones who can bring about a just and lasting peace ... instead of the profits of war.
Peace is one of the most important elements in the world today and one that all mankind should seek and truly are seeking. The reason it is not in evidence many places in the world is also quite apparent. It is due to the greed, selfishness, self-centeredness and kindred emotions held by the people of the world; yes, held onto in spite of all the knowledge that it is the salvation of the world.
People do not and will not grasp the fact that they alone are responsible for their fate, that they are the only ones who can bring about a just and lasting peace if they truly and unselfishly desire it instead of the profits of war.
It is a deplorable fact that men can and do profit from the agony of others who become involved in war because of the greed and power desired by the men who are empowered to run some of the countries of the world.
Peace commences first in the minds and hearts of all mankind, and we must become more tolerant, more kindly towards those who have less of the world’s goods, who are perhaps also of another race or creed and who do not think or act as we do for their backgrounds differ tremendously.
Can we not then overcome these negative conditions and through our better selves learn and negotiate with those who so desperately need assistance? All must do so eventually, but suffering will come unless they [the greedy, the selfish] change their ways.
