... it is only in the overcoming of the possessiveness of material gain and the realization of kinship with all life and the growth of love that peace or harmony in life will come.
We are all striving for harmony in life, for peace and the wisdom that makes harmony possible. Many do not realize just what it is they are after in life. Some think it is for material gain, material possessions, et cetera and that, achieving this, they will automatically have peace, love, and harmony in life. In other words, the Kingdom of God that is within will have been quickened, but this is not so.
This inner peace is not found in this way at all. In fact it is only in the overcoming of the possessiveness of material gain and the realization of kinship with all life and the growth of love that peace or harmony in life will come.
We all tend to worship false gods and to see through a glass darkly rather than to see the light that always is there for us to see when we arrive at the proper state of mind. We must aspire before we can become inspired, and then too it is a long, hard road with many a downfall before we see the truth.
How simple life would be if only the selfish, negative thoughts could be kept out. We must constantly police our thoughts and know that in so doing we are on the right road. That is indeed a big step in the right direction, for to seek is to find, and to knock [means] it will be opened unto you and to all who so do.
