Feeling is all. Words are nothing. If we fear a thing, it becomes fearful to us. Saying it is not so does not at all change the picture.
Merely to say “I can” and to have no real feeling behind it is an empty gesture that means nothing.
In order to accomplish what our desires tell us we should, we must have the feeling, a strong feeling that it is possible and that, given time, it will be done unto us.
Feeling is all. Words are nothing. If we fear a thing, it becomes fearful to us. Saying it is not so does not at all change the picture. However, if we acquire a new feeling, [a] new thought about it and overcome our former fear, that is quite another thing.
Change in that direction must occur or we still have the feeling of fear, of unrest, insecurity or whatever may be troublesome to us. We must root it out of our consciousness entirely if we are to succeed.
This is really hard when we have held onto an idea tenaciously so that it has become reality to us. Whether or not it is a true idea or has truth in it, it remains true for us until we are able, by change of thought and consequent action, to remove it from our ken.
Replace all the old fear thoughts, the insecure, not self-reliant ideas that somehow do come into our minds. It is a constant battle of overcoming, but we will win if we persist.
