Update, Saturday 29 May 2010. Here's a very amusing video from the UK that seems to do a fair job evaluating the Polaroid 300.
This is the Fujifilm Instax Mini 7. Amazon will sell it to you for $67. Just below is the new Polaroid 300, priced at $90. There is more than just a resemblance even if the photos are at different angles.
Amazon will sell you a twin pack of Fuji film of 20 exposures for $13.75, or 69¢ a shot. Polaroid will sell you a single pack of 10 exposures for $9.99 or about $1.00 each.
Wow! Talk about stupendous? You can get a photo this image size --
They call it credit card size, but they must include a lot of border.
Compare that with the cheapest Polaroid camera ever made,
The Swinger --
And that was nothing compared to what square format Polaroid cameras would do --
These were much sharper using Polaroid Type 87 film. Yes, I know. It's me and I apologize.
I don't have photos of other subjects on those particular films, never my favorites.
These were the best IMO: the original Polaroid rectangular format film
in black and white and color --
And this is the image size of the original SX-70 prints --
Our dear cat, Joyce Ann, who loved sinks.
So, let's see that size again --
Hmmm. An image size of 1.8 inches by 2.4. That's 4.6 by 6.2 cm.
How's that for progress?
Blessed are the marketers of this world for they shall inherit even our minds.
Please note that all these sizes are relative to each other. I can't assure that your computer screen will show the exact print size.
