Patricia Storms's great new book
It's a perfect Valentine. You'll love it.
Here's the cover. It was produced in Singapore for Red Rock Press in NY and is a perfect example of splendid production. How they can bring in this title for a $12.95 cover price with the US dollar at its lowest in decades is a mystery to me. It's a small hard cover with a paper wrap and printed entirely in color.
Patricia, you're my gal.
Patricia Storm's work is stunning. It's different and fetching, the way women who wear glasses often are. You don't expect to be captivated by her artwork. It's not precious. The characters are real and her interpretations dead-on accurate without overpowering mannerism. Her creation Tart, could well be a winner for the right editor who can help develop the character. Plus Patricia is from Toronto, and Canada is where a lot of things are happening. I believe Canada is today for cartoons what Mexico was for painting before and during World War II, two much smaller countries blowing us away with their creative talent. How can you not love Canadians (unless you're playing hockey against them)? And isn't it always great to discover new and amazing talent?
