Delaware Art Museum, Wilmington DE
Just returned from a visit to probably the best museum for this kind of illustration, with pretty much all of Howard Pyle's work shown in this web log, and then some -- along with many of the other leading illustrators of the last 100 or more years. If you go, get some directions because Wilmington's signage leaves much to be desired. Coming south from Brandywine country stay on Route 52 and look for it in the northwest part of the city near the river.

There's an exhibit going on until the 2nd of October entitled Consuming Desires, Modern Marketing Posters, 1880 - 1918, which includes the work of Edward Penfield, who is also featured in some of the early postings of this web log.
