I am reading Wharton's "A Backward Glance" where she reminisces about the writing of "Italian Villas" in collaboration with Parrish. I so appreciate being able to view the illustrations that her accompanying text was criticized by editors for writing "too dry and technical" in comparison to Parrish's "fairy-tale pictures." Thank you.
